Welcome to Grace’s Kitchen Blog site. I’m enjoying my bigger kitchen since I got married. I have this obsession about food, always in search of new recipes to try out. Wanting to remember what I have cooked, I started to take picture of a fancier meal I made. With only the food photos in my computer, I cannot remember the exact recipe I tried, especially with the modifications of the original recipe. I decided to collaborate the recipes into a blog so it’s easy to dig out a dish recipe I made.
I like to stock up my pantry with seasonings and ‘must-have’ ingredients. When I flip through cookbooks and food magazines, I usually try out only new recipes that look delicious and nutritious, and most importantly able to use existing ingredients in my house. I love searching new recipe using internet as there are always reviews and comments which I base my modifications on the recipe on. So far I never follow a recipe completely as I would cut down salt, sugar, and add some twists based on other users’ review and my experience. Lately I like to buy pretty and timeless housewares so I can take prettier food pictures.
I have to thank my husband. He is extremely encouraging when it comes to my cooking passion. He bought me different kitchen gadgets, helped me to clean and carve all my turkeys and ducks, took most of the food pictures, became a gardener plus buying me an aerogarden so I can harvest my own herbs, and washed all the dishes after dinners and parties. This year I got my best Christmas gifts from him : this blog and a useful tool to perfect the lighting of my food pictures.
To my husband: Thank you so much for your extraordinary love and support!! Look forward to cooking more good food for you.
